Opening Ceremony of the 64th National School Games Squash

Chandigarh, September 26, 2018: The 64th National school games organised by the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration, commenced today with the colorful opening ceremony held at sports complex, Govt Model High School, Sector-43, Chandigarh. Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh UT was the chief guest on the occasion.
The game will be played in the discipline of Squash Under-14, 17 and 19 Boys & Girls. Around 300 players and officials will participate in this 4 day meet. All the girls matches shall be played at Sports Complex, Sector 43 and Boys matches shall be played at Sports Complex, Sector-34.
        Teams from 12 states and Union Territories will play from 26th to 29th September 2018. Chief Guest congratulated the players for competing and representing their state. She wished them to put in their best and also wished team good luck while declaring the National School Games open. An oath was taken by all the players to play the game in the true spirit of sportsmanship. Gymnastic show was performed by the students of GMHS Sector-43. Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, Chandigarh Administration and other officers of Chandigarh Administration were also present on the occasion. Following teams are participating in this Championship: Assam, CBSE welfare Sports Organisation, Chandigarh, Gujarat, International Board School Sports Organisation, IPSC, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Vidya Bharathi.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
