POSHAN MAAH Awareness drive held at Bapudham and Ramdarbar Anganwadi


Chandigarh, 13th September 2018: On the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Department of Social Welfare Chandigarh Administration decided to celebrate the festival by creating awareness about POSHAN MAAH among pregnant women and mothers of children up to 2 years of age. 

The awareness was generated on the importance of nutrition (Poshan) for healthy life and taught ways for maintaining a proper diet of the children as well as of a Mother. 

The CDPOs and Supervisors of ICDS were given the lectures on adolescent education, diet and immunization at Anganwadi building Sector 24, Bapudham and Ramdarbar. Besides that in other areas information regarding significance of breast feeding, complementary feeding, immunization, and nutritious diet was spread through Early Child Care Education activities.

POSHAN MAAH drive has already made the people to believe in nutrition at all stages of life and with coming events, it will boost the value of proper intake of food and nutritions.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
