POSHAN MAAH drive organised by Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration


Chandigarh, 9th September 2018: The Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration has always shown a great zeal when it comes about serving the society.

Awareness Drives were organised to sensitize the masses on various aspects of POSHAN MAAH as declared by honorable Prime Minister  keeping a motive to aware all the field functionaries of the PRIs,  active Social workers & aware the society regarding the Nutrition on grassroots level.

Drives were done at various places in Chandigarh and villages adjoining to it.
Khejeri, Palsora Colony, Sector 56; Daddu Majra Colony & Village; Dhanas Village & Colony, Kaimbwala, Khudda Ali Sher, Khudda Jassu, Sector- 24, 25, Sarangpur, Mauli Jagran Colony & Village, Daria, Mani Majra, Kishangarh, Vikas Nagar, Bapudham, Indira Colony, Behlana, Vikas Nagar,  Faida, Sector-52, Ram Darbar, Sector -49, Maloya.

The department has also organised an exhibition on Healthy Food,  Anemia, Diarrhoea etc at composite Anganwadi building  Ramdarbar and a Lecture was organised on theme- ‘Breastfeeding foundation of Life for women’ at Khejeri Village.

In this drive, Deputy Director ICDS, CDPO, Supervisor, Anganwadi Workers, local leaders, Panchayat members and members of Lol Adalat actively participated for making events a huge sucess.

The vision of Poshan Maah exhorted all the participants to contribute towards this noble cause which will impact the future generation and make POSHAN MAAH a grand success.

Administrator Launches Website of Sports Department Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 18 th  December 2018:  The website of Department of Sports, UT Chandigarh  http://www.sportsdeptt.chd. gov.in  has been launched today  by Hon’ble Governor Punjab & Administrator, U.T, Chandigarh, Shri. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
