Administrator Inaugurates Run for Unity at Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh, 31st October 2018: Sh. VP Singh Badnore inaugurated the 'Run for Unity' from Sukhna Lake Chandigarh today to mark the celebrations of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day). Hundreds of people participated in this landmark event to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

Present among the galaxy of officers were Sh. Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Home Secretary, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, DGP, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Sh. Mandip Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh Administration.

The Run for Unity began with the March Past by Police Department, and was followed by a pledge which was administered by the Hon’ble Governor. People from all walks of life took part in the Run for Unity at the Sukhna Lake. The 3 km run initiated from Sukhna Lake, and the participants followed the route that covered Capitol Complex as well.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India was known for leading India’s freedom struggle and was influential in unifying the country. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of the nation.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote".
