Advocacy Programme for People living with HIV

Chandigarh, 25th October 2018: An Advocacy programme was organized by Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society in collaboration with Inner Wheel Club Chandigarh Midtown today to make people (living with HIV) aware about the importance of nutritional food. Good nutrition is important to all but for people living with HIV, good nutrition support helps to maintain the immune system and also helps people with HIV maintain a healthy physique.
Dr Joginder Mukherjee, Past President, Inner Wheel Club Chandigarh Midtown created awareness about the importance of healthy food habits and food safety methods, as how to handle, prepare, and store food to prevent food borne illnesses. About 50 patients attended the awareness programme. They were also taught simple yoga steps including meditation which they can adopt in their day to day life.  

Mrs Kund Bala Goyal, President Inner Wheel Club Chandigarh Midtown distributed nutritional food to the participants like nuts, fruits etc. She informed that it will be a regular feature and on 25th every month, this programme will be organized in association with Chandigarh State AIDS control Society.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
