Chandigarh, 5th
October 2018: Sh. BL
Sharma,
IAS, Secretary
Education launched the Teachers’
handbook based on Learning Outcomes at Elementary level in Hindi, English,
Mathematics, EVS, Science & Social Science at UT Guest House today.
Total
33 books have been prepared by Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, U.T,
Chandigarh. While making the handbook, it has been ensured that the learning
needs of students with different learning levels i.e. Pre-Basic, Basic,
Proficient & Advanced, are being catered & the academic progress of the
student can be monitored. These Handbooks will enable the teachers to inculcate
learning skills among the students and will help the teachers to not only focus
on teaching learning processes but also will facilitate state functionaries
towards ensuring quality education in the schools by monitoring at different
levels during random schools visits.
These
handbooks includes list of learning outcomes and progress sheets for tracking the
progress of each student after completion of unit or after the attainment of
the set learning outcome. The assessment sheet will help the teacher to
identify the current level of the learner as well as to identify low
performance and below average students which will further help the investigator
to carry out remedial procedure for low achievers. It will motivate the teacher
to devise new ways of classroom teaching in order to attain the set objectives
for learning outcomes. These tools will also help the parents to know about the
level of achievement of their wards and will help the teacher to know the
progress of students in the classroom.
Secretary
Education appreciated the hardwork and efforts of all the team members behind
the preparation of these handbooks and shared that these tools should be
properly utilized in all the schools for improving the learning levels of the
students. All of the officers and staff from schools were also intimated that
