Food Safety Administration Raids Sweet Shops in Daria, Kishangarh and Baphudham Colony


Chandigarh, 1st November, 2018: The joint teams of the Food Safety Administration, Health Department, U.T. Chandigarh today conducted raids in the area of villages Daria, Kishangarh and Baphudham colony in U.T. of Chandigarh. The Officers checked the hygienic condition of the shops and manufacturing units selling and preparing sweets. Team seized six samples of sweets made of milk products and issued two challans to the units preparing sweets in unhygienic conditions. Around 2.4quintal of sweets lying in unhygienic condition were destroyed by the team. The Food Business operators are advised to:

Keep premises clean, free from environmental contamination & pest activity.
All raw materials shall conform to FSSAI standards and from FSSAI licensed vendor.
Use Potable water as ingredients
Process all food items at adequate temperature for appropriate time.  Hot food above 600C cold food below 50C
Wash hands before and after handling food and after using toilets, coughing, sneezing, etc.
Use waterproof bandage to cover cuts or burns wounds.
Use clean and separate dusters to clean surfaces and wipe utensils.
Keep separate and covered dustbins for food waste
Keep storage premises clean and pest & rodent free
Maintain ambient temperature in storage premises.
Wear clean and protective cloths.
Donot sell expired / spoilt food.
Use only permitted food colours in sweets like Carotenoids, Chlorophylls and chlorophyllin, copper complexes, caramel III- ammonia caramel, Curcumin, Annatoo etc. ( or follow as mentioned under Food Safety & Standards Act, Regulations)

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote".
