Health Checkup Camp Organized by Health Department


Chandigarh, 11th November 2018: Health Department, Chandigarh Administration organised a mega health checkup camp under guidance of National Green Tribunal at Village Hallomajra today. 

The Camp was inaugurated by Sh. Debendra Dalai IFS, Director Enviornment & Forest , UT Chandigarh in the presence of Dr G. Dewan ,Mission Director cum Director Health and Family Welfare  & other Senior Doctors.

This area is thickly populated having around 25,000 (Twenty five thousand) population  in which health facilities were made available and services of  specialists from the fields of Medicine, Skin, ENT, Eye, Paediatrics, Gynaecology etc with AYUSH services of  Ayurvedic & Homeopathic Doctors were provided.

Approximately 1035 patients availed the services i. e male 319,Female 370,male child113, Female child 150,Ayush  83(male 29 &F 54) were examined by these specialists and medicines were also made available to them free of cost. Basic lab tests were also provided free of cost. The follow up of these cases shall be taken up at the respective Civil Dispensary or any health facility as per the convenience of patient. 

 The objective of the camp was to screen the population  .Three new cases of Leprosy were detected today.
.The enthusiastic response of the residents was by the virtue of intensive Information Education & Communication activities which were carried out in the form of posters, pamphlets in the areas two days prior to the Health Mela. 

The exhibition held by various programmes like Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme, Reproductive &Child Health, National Leprosy Eradication Programme, NPCB etc. also drew patients & public participation. All national programmes had exhibited their education material as per their programmes activities.

The work of RNTCP was appreciated as they provided 47 patients of the area free DOTS treatment at DOT center in Hallomajra. 

The presentation by Department of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme regarding the projection of the number of activities being carried out to control the menace of Dengue and Malaria in Hallo Majra was applauded .

Municipal Corporation enthusiastically participated in the Health Mela and around 40-50 health workers availed the services. Around 100 children from the school visited Health Mela and underwent screening.

Public Camp Chandigarh, 28 January, 2016 :-  It is for the information of the general public that the public camp for 29/01/2016 is to be held at community centre of Sector 45. The sectors covered in the camp would be Sector 44, 45 including burial Village, 46 and 33 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 AM.
