Ground-Breaking Ceremony of New Secretariat Building


Chandigarh, 12th December 2018: The Ground-Breaking ceremony of the proposed basement (1) and 7 storied New Secretariat Building, Sector-9 Chandigarh was held today by Sh. V.P. Singh Bandore, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, Chandigarh. 

The building will house the offices of the Administrator, Adviser to the Administrator, Finance Secretary, Home Secretary and all other departments of Chandigarh Administration under one location. 

The construction work of 214000 sq ft building is awarded with the cost of 49.7 Cr. The building has been designed by considering the green building parameters as an energy efficient building which is one of its first kinds in Chandigarh. 

The state of art building aims to have advanced technological features and will be controlled and monitored centrally. The Project has been designed to achieve “FIVE STAR green rating under GRIHA certification.” The specifications include insulated walls and roof, high performance glass, energy efficient lighting and air conditioning, sewage water treatment with reuse of treated water, top soil preservation, organic waste composting. The entire roof will have solar panels. The Completion period of the project is 18 Months.

Sh. AK Gupta, Principle Secretary Home, Sh. A K Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. K K Yadav, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, and other officers of the Chandigarh Administration were also present at this occasion.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
