Celebration of Girl Child Week under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme


Chandigarh, 25th January 2019: The National Girl Child Week is being celebrated throughout the country from 21st-26th January, 2019 under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme. The theme of the week for January 2019 is "Empowering Girl for a better Tomorrow”.  Under this celebration, the Director Social Welfare, Smt. Navjot Kaur, PCS, started the BBBP and Poshan Abhiyan sticker pasting drive from Sector 24. Also, a signature campaign was started by the Director in Sector 17. People have enthusiastically participated in the signature campaign with messages to save the girl child and to eat healthy and nutritious food.

The Department has also organised Prabhat Pheris at Mauli Jagran Colony and Village to celebrate the National Girl Child Day Week. Also the department has organised awareness programme to create awareness among children on Child Rights, Personal Hygiene and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 at GMSSS 44B, Chandigarh. A Puppet show has also been organised at Indira Colony in convergence with song and drama division which raise awareness about BBBP.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
