Adviser addresses the issues of Industries Association of Chandigarh


Chandigarh, 31st January 2019: A meeting was held today at UT Secretariat under the chairmanship of Advisor to the Administrator, Sh. Manoj Parida with the members of Industries Association of Chandigarh to discuss the demands/issues raised by the association.

Earlier a Committee was constituted in September 2018 to look into the issues of Traders and Industrial Associations.

The Adviser to the Administrator had a discussion with the members on various issues like firstly, allowing of additional activities in consonance with MSMED Act, 2006 other than the 2-3 activities allowed in the first ever Industrial Policy 2015 of Chandigarh and also to frame suitable rules for its implementation. Secondly, drafting a Suitable policy for conversion of plots from Lease hold to free hold basis including the transfer of Lease Hold rights. Thirdly, allowing need based changes in the architectural controls in accordance with modern day industrial requirements.

Some new suggestions were also shared by the Association including the change of the nomenclature of Industry Area Phase-II, to increase FAR up to 15 Marla, allow Single Window clearance from DIC, U.T., Chandigarh.

The Adviser has directed the concerned officers to further deliberate on the demands and issues raised by the Industries Association of Chandigarh.

Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Sh. Hardeep Singh Sandhu, Director Industries and other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration were present in the meeting.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
