Chandigarh Felicitates Beneficaries under PM-KISAN Scheme


Chandigarh, 24th February 2019: On the occasion of launching of “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samaan Nidhi” PM-KISAN Scheme at the national level by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narinder Modi from  Gorakhpur (UP), an event was organized today in Union Territory, Chandigarh to felicitate the beneficiaries from UT, Chandigarh under the PM-KISAN scheme. 

The event was held in the Auditorium of Government Museum & Art Gallery, Sector-10, and Chandigarh in the presence of Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Home, Shri Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh and Smt. Radhika Singh, HCS, Joint Secretary Agriculture. Also present were approximately 200 beneficiary farmers. 

After the launch of the scheme today, the first installment of Rs. 2000/- out of an annual amount of Rs. 6000/- will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. 

The event started with the speech of Joint Secretary Agriculture who apprised the audience about the scheme. Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the importance of agriculture in Chandigarh in terms of organic farming which is extremely relevant in today’s scenario. This was followed by live telecast of  Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narinder Modi’s “MANN KI BAAT” and then the live telecast of the launch of the Scheme by Hon’ble Prime Minister from Gorakhpur (UP).

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
