Chandigarh gets 12 New Skill Centers of PMKVY

Chandigarh, 25th February 2019: In order to make the youth skilled, Chandigarh Skill Development Mission (CSDM) launched 12 New skill centers today at different locations in Chandigarh in which free of cost skill training in various NSQF aligned courses will be provided by Govt and Private Training partners under the scheme of PMKVY. All famous institutions i.e NITTTR , CCET and IndoSwiss Training Center became partner to provide free skill training on latest infrastructure. For enhancing the reach of training , 9 private training centers were also selected by CSDM.
After mobilization, total 1000 students were enrolled through the CSDM portal. These students are from different marginal groups’ i.e Dropouts, EWS, Unemployed. In order to motivate these students and support them to become a part of the society, all 12 training centers have been connected through the mode of Video conferencing and 1000 students at 12 training centers were addressed by Sh. Sachin Rana, IAS Special Secretary Technical Education - cum- Mission Director during which he emphasized that Skill India Mission is not just a program to generate employment, but to instill self confidence in the youth of India.
All Training Centers are established in Sector 43, Maloya, Manimajra, Sector 26, sector 11, sector 30, Sector 34, Sector 35 and Industrial Area, Chandigarh etc.  The Courses of Web Developer, DEO, CRM, Retail, telecom, CNC Turning, fitter, welding etc. are available at 12 different locations, and all the details are available on website www.utcsdm.org.
A two days Workshop on “State Skill Development Mission to Function as Inspection Agency” has also begun today at Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Sector 10-D, Chandigarh in which officials from NSDC, Principal’s of various Institutes had an Interactive sessions with the participants of Inspection Quality Control Team.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
