Chandigarh, 24th February 2019: The second day of special camp
organized by Election Department Chandigarh saw a major footfall of the
unregistered, eligible voters.
Around 500 people were trained on EVM
VVPAT machines and around 1200 residents were told about the Election process
and given different forms for enrolment at these camps. The Adviser to the
Administrator also inspected the VVPAT machines at the stall at Rose Festival.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were present
during the camp with the copies of final electoral rolls of 2019. A copy of the
electoral role was also made available in the polling station so that electors
can check their names in the rolls.Additionally, the electoral rolls were also
read out publically during the camp to facilitate illiterate voters. All BLO’s
kept copies of Forms 6, 7, 8 and 8A with them to facilitate filling up of forms
by people.
The special camp accommodated
registered voters to get the correction or verification of the details of names
and address, so that the correct and updated information can be added in each
voters Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) and no eligible voter is deprived
of voting during the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019.
