International Regional Programme on Entrepreneurship in Technical and Vocational Education and Training begins at NITTTR, Chandigarh


Chandigarh, 18th February, 2019: A one week International Regional Programme on Entrepreneurship in Technical and Vocational Education and Training was inaugurated today by Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh. The programme is being conducted jointly by Colombo Plan Staff College, Manila, Philippines and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh from 18-22 February 2019 at NITTTR, Sector 26, Chandigarh. A total of 20 International Delegates from 10 Countries of Asia and Pacific Region are participating in the Programme.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest Sh. Parida gave his view on how the other countries despite of their small size were able to emerge as leaders globally and emphasized on the importance of Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Rights. He expressed his happiness on the fact that this important aspect is being covered during this training programme.
Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane, Director General, CPSC, Manila was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Dr. Ramhari expressed his gratitude towards the support extended by Government of India for their support and encouragement in furthering the realization of the mission of the Colombo Plan Staff College, Manila, Philippines. He also emphasized on the need to work towards sustainable development initiatives and shared an overview of the gamut of programmes and activities conducted by CPSC regionally and internationally. He also expressed that each time he visits NITTTR, Chandigarh he sees a demonstratable improvement in its operations over varied dimensions.
Prof. R.K. Sinha, Director, CSIO; Dr. Surinder Singh, Director, SCL, Mohali; Prof. S.K. Jain, Director, SLIET, Longowal were among other eminent personalities who graced the occasion.
All the Guests and delegates were welcomed by Prof. S.S. Pattnaik, Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh, who briefed all present about the programmes and activities of NITTTR, Chandigarh, and the programme is being coordinated by Prof. S.K Dhameja, Dean, Academics and International Affairs, NITTTR, Chandigarh.
