Member of Parliament Lays Foundation Stone of 20 kWp SPV Power Plant at Jat Bhawan



Chandigarh, 24th February 2019: A foundation stone of 20 kWp SPV Power Plant at Jat Bhawan, Sector-27, Chandigarh was laid today by Smt.Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chandigarh. 

This Plant is being installed on the rooftop of Jat Bhawan with a total cost of Rs. 10 Lakhs under MPLAD Scheme and is being executed by CREST(Chandigarh Renewable Science & Technology Promotion Society). This plant will generate approximately 26000 units of electricity annually which will meet about 40% of the total energy consumption for this building.

Later on addressing the gathering the Chief Guest said that switching over to green energy (Solar Energy) shall always be a Tribute to Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram. She applauded the effort of CREST, Chandigarh in their Endeavour in promoting solar energy to make Chandigarh green city.  

The function was attended by Sh. Debendra Dalai, IFS, Director (Science & Tech. & Renewable Energy) & CEO, CREST, UT Chandigarh, Dr. M. S Mallik (IPS Rtd.), President, Jat Sabha and various members of the Jat Bhawan, Dr. Abdul Qayum Additional Director (Science & Tech. & Renewable Energy) & ACEO, CREST, Sh.Ravinder Singh, Project Director (CREST), and other officials of the Department.
