Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS graces the closing ceremony of the 14th TFT Winter National Theatre Festival


Chandigarh, 27th February, 2019: The Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS today graced the closing ceremony of the 14th TFT Winter National Theatre Festival at Navrang theatre, Bal Bhawan Chandigarh. The festival was organized by Theatre For Theatre group in collaboration with Haryana Kala Parishad from 29th January 2019 to 27th February, 2019 and dedicated to the renowned theatre artist late Sh. Parvesh Sethi who played a huge rule in establishing this festival as a much loved theatre festival among art & culture lovers of the city. 

The festival closing ceremony initiated with Sh. Parida lighting the ceremonial lamp. This was followed by the launch of a book which has a compilation of the last year's theatre festival and a felicitation ceremony of the artists, members of theatre for theatre group and team behind bringing together this month long festival.

The month long festival celebrated varied aspects of art & culture in the form of stage plays, nukkad-natak showcased by nationally acclaimed directors, musical events, puppetry, workshops, seminars, interaction with directors, eminent theatre directors, artists, book launches, award functions, short film festivals, rang yatra, theme-based photography, visual art exhibition along with live installations.

The last day of the festival witnessed various cultural activities and an “Art Exhibition” which was a tribute to our soldiers and included different art mediums of Live Painting, Collage Painting, Pot Painting, Mask Painting, Cartooning, Face painting, best out of waste and Tatoo Painting

The highlight of the day was the play “Satya Ke Prayog” performed by Sambhav Group in collaboration with Haryana Kala Parishad that showcased the untouched shades of Auto-biography of Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi. The theatrical presentation emphasized on the simplicity with which Gandhi ji lived his life. The play portrayed Gandhi as a person who is one of us, however in his later age was witnessed, and proclaimed  as a “MAHATMA” !!

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
