Meeting held with the representatives from various political parties

Chandigarh, 13th March, 2019: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha with the representatives from various political parties.

In the meeting, Sh. Sinha emphasized on strict adhere to the guidelines of Model Code of Conduct, limitation on expenditure to be made by each party/candidate during election campaign, complete lodging of election expenses by the candidate, abstaining from corrupt & illegal practices during electioneering, filing of online as well as manual nomination of candidates, permissions to be sought through Suvidha App, and imparting proper training programme to all political parties for effective use of the newly launched applications. 
Further to this, it was also intimidated that a special RO Cell has also been set up at the Deputy Commissioner's office in sector-17, Chandigarh for the convenience of political parties to making the election process smooth and transparent. To assist the voters, a helpline number 1950 is also functional. With this toll free number, voters can seek information regarding voter identity card, BLO and polling booth. 

Among others present during the meeting were Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Additional Chief Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Joint C.E.O-cum-SDM(East), Sh. Saurabh Mishra, IAS, SDM (South), Sh. Jagjit Singh, PCS, Deputy C.E.O and other officials of Election Department.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
