Notice Issued for Violation of Model Code of Conduct


Chandigarh, 13th March 2019: In regard to the news items published on 13th March in Newspapers Dainik Bhaskar “ BJP pradehadhyaksh ne kiya achar sanhita ka ulanghan, 3 community center me ki meeting”, Dainik Jagran “ 3 community centres me Sanjay Tandon ne li workers ki meeting, charge bhi nahi diya” Hindustan Times “ Poll Code Violation: Ruling BJP holds election meets in community centers” Show cause notices have been issues to 7 representatives of Politicals Parties and 3 officials of Municipal Corporation.
A complaint was also received on the Cvigil app today. In regard to the same, the ARO took cognizance of the news report and thereafter notices has been issued for convening the election meetings on Government properties i.e Community Centers Sector 29, Ram Darbar, Sector 37 Chandigarh.
Notices have been issued by Nodal officer MCC to Sanjay Tandon, Arun Sood, Ravikant Sharma, Haji Mohammad Khurshid Ali, Shakti Prakash Devshali, Bharat Kumar, Satprakash Aggarwal. Notices have also been issued to three officials of Municipal Corporation namely Ankur Bansal, Manoj Vyas and Ram Singh.
All of the above have been asked to explain their position within 24 hours for violation of MCC.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
