Awareness Run organized under SVEEP programme at Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh, 27th April, 2019: To create electoral awareness among citizens of all age groups and maximize voter participation on 19 May, 2019 in Chandigarh, an Awareness Run was organized today by an IT company, Beyond Codes in collaboration with the Election Department Chandigarh as part of the SVEEP programme. The run was flagged off by Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, U.T Chandigarh at 6:00 am from Sukhna Lake Chandigarh. 

The awareness run witnessed around 700 people from all age groups, particularly the first time voters who joined the initiative to mark their presence in the electoral process. Among the participants were employees of various IT companies from tricity, their families, and children from schools, colleges and general public. The participants wore T-Shirts designed by Beyond Codes company that promoted the message of "Election ka Maha Tyohar, Chandigarh hai Taiyaar". The winners of the run were given medals, whereas certificates and goodies were distributed among all the participants. A signature campaign was also organized at the event. The campaign was an attempt to allow people to put their signatures as a commitment towards their duty as responsible citizens to vote for their country.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
