Chief Electoral Officer reviews preparedness of election training by the Master Trainers


Chandigarh, 16th April, 2019: A review meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer- cum- Finance Commissioner, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha to assess the methodology devised by the Election Department for imparting intensive hands on training by the Master Trainers for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in Chandigarh.

During the meeting, a presentation highlighting the components and functioning of EVM/VVPAT machine, Role of presiding officer and polling officers was delivered. The first round of training of polling personnel's, sector officers, BLOs Micro observers, Nodal officers have already been done. The second round of training will begin from 22 April, 2019.

The Chief Electoral Officer stressed that the training should focus on imparting role specific information to each Officer. Along with practical knowledge,giving hands-on training regrading usage of EVM/VVPAT, following laid down SOPs and filling up of various forms. Every personnel associated with the Election process must be well versed with the guidelines and instructions of the Election Commission of India.

The meeting was attended by Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Additional CEO-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Joint CEO, along with state level general and master trainers for Election Training.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
