Chandigarh, 15th
April, 2019: A review meeting was held today under the
chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer- cum-Finance Commissioner, Sh. Ajoy
Kumar Sinha with the Nodal Officers to assess the election preparedness for Lok
Sabha Elections 2019 in Chandigarh.
During the
meeting officials discussed key issues pertaining to preparedness of polling
station, security arrangements, movement of vehicles, Model Code of Conduct,
static surveillance teams, flying squads, status of grievance received and
redressed through C-Vigil App, webcasting at polling stations, deployment of
central forces on operational duty, issuance of Election Duty Certificate, Arms
& License deposit during MCC, expenditure monitoring, availability of
health services during any emergency situation, intensive hands-on procedural
training of presiding and polling officials, PwD voting App, reserve teams,
strengthening of manpower, EVM management system, setting up for RO cell for
nominations, food arrangements for staff on Election duty at the Polling
Station and fulfilment of official requirements of observers.
Those who are or
have turned 18 by 1 January, 2019, can register themselves for Voter Card by
submitting Form 6 to BLO, SDM office, Sampark centre, NVSP website and Voter
Helpline App until 19 April, 2019. To assist the voters, a helpline number 1950
is also functional. With this toll free number, voters can get an easy solution
to their election related queries.
