Expenditure Observer reviews Election Preparedness in Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency

Chandigarh, 23rd April 2019: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Smt. Amisha S Gupt, IRS to review the election preparedness in the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency. She has been appointed as Expenditure Observer for Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency by Election Commission of India.

At the onset a detailed presentation was given by the Assistant Expenditure Observer about the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency wherein various measures for preparedness were discussed including working of District MCMC, preparation of polling stations, security arrangements, implementation of Model Code of Conduct, static surveillance teams, flying squads, C-Vigil App, deployment of forces  expenditure monitoring, intensive hands-on procedural training of presiding and polling officials, PwD voting App, reserve teams, strengthening of manpower, EVM management system,  SVEEP campaigns.

Thereafter, every Nodal officer gave presentation in detail about the working of the area assigned to them. It was brought out that Media Certification and Monitoring Committee has been acting on all the cases of precertification of advertisements, audio/visual content of the political parties, and has been monitoring different media platforms on a daily basis. Similarly, Nodal Officer C Vigil explained how the cases have been dealt on receiving the complaint on the app. The SVEEP team also elaborated the campaign conducted by them so far and future plans to encourage voter participation in the city. The Nodal Officer Model Code of Conduct also shared how the complaints regarding Model Code violation are being dealt in the constituency.

Working of different teams like, Flying Squad teams, Static Surveillance team, Video Surveillance team and video viewing teams was also discussed in detail. On the same lines, the deployment of forces was also shared with Election Expenditure Observer to give an overview of the election preparedness in the constituency.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
