Show Cause Notice Issued to 14 Presiding/Polling Officers for leaving the Training

Chandigarh, 23rd April 2019: On the second day of training for Presiding Officers/Polling Officers at Government College Sector 10, fourteen Presiding/Polling Officers left the training venue without giving certificate regarding training and mandatory test.

A disciplinary action has been initiated against them by issuing show cause notices to all these officers under the Representation of the People Act, 1951. All of them have been issued a warning to continue the training as per the schedule, and appear for the test.
Further, four to five officers have not been able to clear the test given at the end of the training session, therefore all of them have been directed to attend the training again and reappear in the test.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
