State Level Prize distribution function held at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 18, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 29th May 2019, Chandigarh Commission for protection of child rights in collaboration with Education Department, UT, Chandigarh celebrated World No Tobacco day and international Children day by organizing Poster making, Slogan writing and Theatrical Competitions among school children of Chandigarh schools with the objective of sensitization and creating awareness on Child Abuses. The sensitization program is a deemed effort by Chandigarh Commission for protection of child rights towards child-friendly Chandigarh. In this sensitization program various Government and private schools across the city participated. Twenty six teams performed the productions on Drug Abuse, POCSO Sensitization and Child labor.
The concluding ceremony of these competitions was held today at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 18, Chandigarh. Sh. Manoj kumar Parida, worthy Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh and Sh. B.L. Sharma, Secretary of Education- cum Social Welfare was the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively on this occasion, Smt. Navjot kaur, Director Social welfare, and Sh. Sudesh Sharma renowned Theatre Personality were also present as Guest of Honour.  
The prizes were given to the winners of the competitions held during these celebrations which are detail below:

Sh. Manoj kumar Parida, Advisor to the Administrator appreciated the initiatives taken by CCPCR to aware the students of schools about Child abuses through various creative competitions and praised young Artists along with their teachers and Principals for their wonderful performance in these activities and hoped that Commission will continue its efforts with same spirit and enthusiasm. He congratulated the Chairperson of the commission along with its team for organizing such type of sensitization programs. Sh. Sudesh Sharma, the renowned Theatre Artist of Chandigarh, also appreciated the performance standards of the schools children. He also offered free training on the theatrical activities to the school children on schools basis if required. The program ended with the vote of thanks by Smt. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson CCPCR. She shared that sensitizing the whole society on Child Abuse is a huge challenge but with such events and sport of our creative champions we can build a strong safety net ourselves and we are committed with the wonderful support of the Chandigarh Administration.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
