“YOGADHARA-Explore Yourself with Yoga” organized at Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 14th June, 2019: Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health Sector 23-A, Chandigarh organized a two day workshop and seminar “YOGADHARA-Explore Yourself with Yoga” on June 13th & 14th, 2019 as part of celebrations of the upcoming 5th International Day of Yoga. The Workshop and Seminar was conducted and addressed by eminent Yoga experts from esteemed institutions all over India.

The workshop on 13th June commenced with a practical session in the morning by Prof. Dr. G.D. Sharma, a renowned yoga expert, former Chairman in Department of Yoga Studies H.P. University and also Head of the Department of Yoga Science Patanjali University, Haridwar. Prof. Dr. G.D. Sharma emphasized on the importance of practicing Vajra Asana, Mandukasana to strengthen the digestive system.

The Second session of the workshop was conducted in the evening by Shri Srinivas Murti, an eminent personality in the field of Yoga who shared his valuable knowledge with the participants in form of practical and simple approach apart from given dietary tips that are to be followed in daily life.

The seminar on 14th June, 2019 commenced with a lecture on “Authenticity of Yoga amongst Youth in the Modern Scenario” by Dr. G.D Sharma followed by lecture-cum talk session on Yoga Therapy for modern disorder by Dr. Kashinath Metri from SVYASA Bangalore.

In the evening the seminar started with a lecture on “Ayurveda and its Relevance in Modern Life” delivered by Dr. Rajiv Kapila, nodal officer, National Ayush Mission. This was further followed by a lecture cum-practical session on ‘Bhakti Yoga’ by renowned Bhajan singer and T.V artist Pandit Harish Sharma and Dr. Gunanidhi Sharma. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Mahender Singh, Joint Director of Sports cum Principal, Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health Sector 23-A, Chandigarh. The two day Workshop and Seminar was attended by approximately 450 participants.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
