Chandigarh Administration to fill Vacant Posts as per Punjab Recruitment of Ex Servicemen Rules, 1982

Chandigarh, 5th July 2019: Chandigarh Administration has always made efforts to fill up the vacant posts by inviting applications in different leading newspapers so that eligible/deserving candidates can get an opportunity. As per Punjab Recruitment of Ex Servicemen Rules, 1982 as applicable in Chandigarh, 13% vacancies in direct recruitment are reserved for Ex Servicemen. The Rules further provide that “where an Ex Serviceman is not available for recruitment against a reserved vacancy, such a vacancy shall be reserved to be filled by recruitment of the wife or dependent child of an ex serviceman, who has neither been recruited against a reserved vacancy under these rules.” It has been noticed that sufficient number of posts in group B& C reserved for Ex Servicemen are lying vacant in various departments of Chandigarh Administration. Therefore, it is for the information of the public that eligible ex servicemen or their wives or wards may apply for the posts being advertised by Chandigarh Administration from time to time.
