V.P. Singh Badnore for Strengthening of City Drainage System before Ensuing Monsoon


Chandigarh, July 3, 2019:  The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore today directed the officers concerned to strengthen the drainage system in Chandigarh and carry out thorough cleanliness of the drains to avoid any inconvenience to the people of City Beautiful Chandigarh in the ensuing rainy season.

The Governor also asked the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh to take effective step to streamline the drainage especially around the roundabouts so that the water flows smoothly without any obstacles. He also asked them to identify the blocked drains in and around the residential areas and complete the tasks of repairing/opening these drains before the start of monsoons.

Besides, he also urged the people to come forward and inform the Administration about water logging in any part of the city.

Shri Badnore assured the people of Chandigarh that the Administration was fully geared up to tackle the coming monsoons and the corrective measures will be taken in order to ensure the safety of the people against any untoward incident.
