Administrator felicitated Ranveer Duggal for outstanding performance in Snookers at World Snooker Championship and reviews various Sports Projects


Chandigarh, 30th September 2019: The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, felicitated Ranveer Duggal for his outstanding achievement in the game of Snookers, at Punjab Raj Bhavan today.

Master Ranveer Duggal has represented India in the World Snooker Championship under 16 at Tyumen, Russia from 18th to 24th August, 2019 and has beeb felicitated with a Bronze Medal.  He has defeated opponents from Ireland, Australia, Russia and England.  Master Ranveer Duggal came in top 8 of the World under 16 in World Snooker Championship at St Petersburg in 2017.

He became finalist in 2016 in Nationals Snooker under 18 held at Pune.  The champion has also bagged the top positions in Chandigarh State Billiards and Snooker Championship from last four years under 18 and 21 category.  

Sh. Rakesh Duggal, Secretary, Billiards and Snookers Association (Coach of Master Ranveer Duggal), Smt. Jaswinder Kaur, mother of Master Ranveer Duggal, Sh. K.K. Yadav, IAS Secretary Sports, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer, Sh. Kapil Setia, Chief Architect, Sh. Tejdeep Singh Saini, Director Sports were also present at the felicitation ceremony.

Further to this, the Governor of Punjab-cum-Administrator, Chandigarh also reviewed the progress of following infrastructure projects being undertaken by the Sports Department, Chandigarh: -

1) World Class Shooting Range, which is to be developed at Sarangpur, Chandigarh.
2) Billiards and Snookers Complex, which is to be constructed at Sports Complex, Sector 42, Chandigarh.  
3) Skating Rink, which is to be constructed at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 23A, Chandigarh.  
4) Synthetic Athletic Track, which is to be constructed at Sports Complex, Sector 7, Chandigarh.

Administrator Launches Website of Sports Department Chandigarh

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
