Adviser holds State Level Meeting of Road Safety Council


30 August, 2019. Chandigarh. A State- Level road safety council meeting held under the Chairmanship of Sh.Manoj Parida,IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Union Territory Chandigarh,today to discuss and deliberate on the issues  in order to curb traffic rules violation and implement stricter traffic discipline among the traffic commuters.

At the outset, Sh.Shashank Anand,SSP Traffic welcomed all the Council members including Sh.Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Home,Sh.Ajoy Kumar Sinha,Finance Secretary, Sh.Mandip Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Sh.K.K.Yadav,Commissioner Municipal Corporation and many eminent senior officials from concerned departments and highlighted the base and purpose of the meeting.

The Adviser to the Administrator  issued strict instruction to the officials to ensure that all the concerned issues such as Installation of pedestrian pelican lights between sector 5 parking area and Sukhna Lake, Installation of strong iron grills on all dividers, Installation of blinkers on the roundabouts, Proper maintenance of CCTV camera installed at various road intersections and servers in the city, regular pruning of tress near traffic signals/timers, controlling the menace of beggars/vendors at traffic intersections, Installation of cameras in dashboard in Ambulance, Provision of lane marking direction arrows and intersections control marking on all major roads of the city should be done on a timely deadline .

At the end of the meeting SSP Traffic also highlighted that the ratio of fatal accidents are coming down as of now from the previous year ratio as all the concerned department related to the road safety committee are working cordially and efficiently towards it and implementing towards the safety of the Chandigarh people which got an appreciation note from the Adviser to the Administrator.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
