Foundation stone laid for community centres in Sector 21 & Ram Darbar


Chandigarh, 21st October 2019: Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Smt. Kirron Kher laid the foundation stone of modern community centre each in Sector 21 and Ram Darbar today which are reconstructed after dismantling the old structures.

These community centres would be the best of its kind in the city covering 20552 sq.ft.area in Sector-21 and 18413 Sq.ft in Ram Darbar.These would be constructed at a cost of  approximately Rs 5.80 crore in Sector 21 and Rs.5.29 Crore in Ram Darbar.

The community centres will have a main hall, an office, a kitchen, and separate toilets for men and women, Library and Gymnasium.

Mayor Chandigarh, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer, Ex-Mayor Asha Jaswal, Former Mayors Raj Bala Malik and Arun Sood, Councillor Sunita Dhawan, Dalip Sharma, Mahesh Inder Sidhu,  and other senior officers of the Chandigarh administration and area residents were also  present on the occasion.

Smt. Kirron Kher asked the councillors to get the byelaws amended so that the religious functions in community centers can also be allowed. She said the centres are strategically located to serve the citizens which are used for cultural programmes, to organise marriages and for other social activities.

Public Camp Chandigarh, 28 January, 2016 :-  It is for the information of the general public that the public camp for 29/01/2016 is to be held at community centre of Sector 45. The sectors covered in the camp would be Sector 44, 45 including burial Village, 46 and 33 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 AM.
