29th October, 2019. Vigilance awareness Week, commenced from
28.10.2019 to 02.11.2019 on the theme "Integrity- a way of life". The
Vigilance Department, Chandigarh Administration issued instructions to all the
Board, Corporations and Departments of Chandigarh Administration to observe
VAW-2019 strictly as per the CVC instructions and undertake various activities
in their respective organizations. Due to the Gazetted holiday on 28th October,
the pledge taking ceremony was organized at the U.T. Secretariat Building today
i.e. 29th October. The Adviser to Administrator-cum-Chief Vigilance Officer,
Union Territory, Chandigarh Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS administered a pledge to the
Officers and other staff of Deluxe and Addl. Deluxe Buildings, Chandigarh
Administration today. The officials of the Vigilance Department have informed
that during the whole week various activities have been planned like speech on
integrity and ethics will be delivered by OSD(Vigilance) in various schools and
colleges and pamphlets to aware the general public would be distributed.
Besides this, poster making, slogan writing, and essay writing competitions are
being carried out throughout the week in different educational institutions.
Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
