One day workshop on Creative Play for Children at Risk



 Chandigarh.15 November, 2019. State Adoption Resource Agency, under Union Territory Child Protection Society, Chandigarh in collaboration with Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), New Delhi and Department of Pediatrics, PGIMER, Chandigarh organized  “One day workshop on Creative Play for Children at Risk” by renowned U.K. based, Neuro Dramatic Play Therapist Prof. Sue Jennings, at APC Auditorium PGIMER,  Chandigarh,today.

The Workshop was organized to impart training to stakeholders especially officials working under Child Protection Mechanism and Child Care Institute’s in order to equip them with the knowledge and skills on Creative Play, in order to deal with children at risk and in need of care and protection. The participants in the program were from the field of Child Protection which included District Child Protection Officers, Counsellors from Child Care Institutes, Professors from Higher Education, Doctors, Officials from Women and Child Helpline, Child line and Students. 

Mrs. Navjot Kaur, Director Social Welfare-cum-Member Secretary, UTCPS and Sh. Jagat Ram, Director- PGIMER, Chandigarh also marked their presence in the program and appreciated this collaborative effort of UTCPS and Department of Paediatrics  PGI with Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), New Delhi.

The workshop consisted of 4 Sessions including Muscle Relaxation Exercise for children, Messy Play, The Art of Story Telling, The Trust Car and Sand Play. An activity based session was carried out in the Nivedita Creche with small children followed by the valedictory remarks of Dr. Bhavneet Bharti, Prof. Pediatrics Department PGI and Ms. Bisman Ahuja, Program Manager UTCPS.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
