Sh. VP Singh Badnore inaugurated the Sports Complex at Sector 39 Chandigarh


Chandigarh, 5th November 2019: The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore inaugurated the Sports Complex at Sector 39 Chandigarh today in the presence of Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator.
This Sports facility is another feather in the cap of Sports infrastructure development for the citizens of the Chandigarh and Sports Department is grateful to Chandigarh Administration for its patronages as well as Architecture and Engineering departments of UT Chandigarh for their expertise and support to make this dream project come true.   

This Sports Complex comprises Swimming Pool, Yoga Hall and Table Tennis Hall as Indoor facilities and Volleyball and Basketball courts as outdoor facilities will be up coming soon. The timings and fee structure for the facilities will be as per the other existing Sports facilities of Sports Department, UT Chandigarh except Yoga which will be available from 6 am to 7 am and 6 pm to 7 pm.  Apart from that, the swimming facility will be available for one month i.e. November, 2019.  The enrolment for the students and general public members for the said facilities have been commenced from today itself. 

Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. AK Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Sh. K K Yadav, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Sh. Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer, Sh. Kapil Setia, Chief Architect, officials of Sports and Engineering Department were also present on this occasion.

Administrator Launches Website of Sports Department Chandigarh

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
