Colorful Bonanza organized on the eve of Republic Day


Chandigarh, 25th January, 2020: The Education Department, Chandigarh Administration on the eve of Republic Day, today organized a Colorful Bonanza at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh., Sh. Manoj Kumar Parida IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh was the Chief Guest.  Among others present during the occasion were Ms. Nazuk Kumar, IAS,SDM (Central), Ms Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson CCPCR, Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, Mr.Saurabh Arora,PCS,Director Culture and other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration.

 The colorful programme started off with the Ganesh Vandana presented by students of Govt. Girls Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 18 and Punjabi folk dance performance by GMSSS 21.  A Patriotic Dance was presented by the students of New Public School Sector 18. Group Orchestra performance given by the winners of Kala Utsav 2019. Puppet dance performance was presented by the students of Govt Model Sr Sec School, Dhanas. Patriotic Dance was presented by the students of KBDAV, Sector 7.  Musical Act was also performed by Students of Govt Model Sr Sec School, Sector 35. Women Empowerment performance was given by the students of DPS, Sector-40.

The Chief Guest distributed Prizes to the Winners of Kala Utsav which was conducted by the education department earlier. State Level Kala Utsav was celebrated as per the guidelines of
MHRD/NCERT  Chandigarh students who attained 1st,2nd and 3rd position at cluster level participated in four different events i.e. Dance, Music (Vocal), Music ( Instrumental) and Painting during State level Kala Utsav. 1st position holder in each event at State level further participated in National level event of Kala Utsav which was held at National Bal Bhawan , New Delhi. cash prizes and mementoes were presented to all winners in all four categories and to the Nodal officer, Principal GMSSS 16 and the CRC cordonators.

 Speaking on the occasion Sh. Parida stated that  “All the performances are very professional this could only be made possible because of the dedication of highly skilled teachers and this could go to national to international level and talented students also go more deep and practise hard for perfection".

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
