Chandigarh.21st January, 2020. The Food Safety Administration, Health Department, U.T. Chandigarh along with third Party Auditor appointed by FSSAI audited the Campus “Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh on the set parameters as defined by the FSSAI under the initiative “Eat Right Campus” by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The said college made the full compliance as per the report and got certified as first Eat Right Campus of U.T. Chandigarh. The Director Health & Family Welfare, U.T. Chandigarh Dr. G. Dewan today honorfirst Eat Right Campus Award of U.T. Chandigarh to Professor Dr. Salil Sharma on the behalf of Dr. Anita Kaushal Principal, Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India initiated an initiative “Eat Right Campus” to promote safe, healthy and sustainable food in campuses such as academic institutes, workplace, and hospitals across the country. People spend majority of their time outside their homes and consume at least one meal in their canteens/ cafeterias. Campuses need to be more conscious and mindful of their students/ employees health due to growing of lifestyle disorders combined with rising incidence of diet related diseases. It is important for a campus to ensure availability of safe food and healthy diets in their premises. Eat Right Campus initiative of FSSAI provides a unique opportunity to showcase their efforts around people health and well-being, but also helps in setting an example about the best practices towards availability of safe and hygienic food.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
