ORDER


In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 2A, of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 to 1955), the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs) Vide notification No. SO 1087 (E) dated 13th March, 2020, issued notification to regulate the production, quality, distribution, logistics of masks ( 2ply & 3ply surgical masks, N95 masks) & hand sanitizers (for COVID 19 management) by adding he said item’s in the schedule after serial no. (7) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. The orders shall remain in force for a period up to 30th June, 2020.

The Press Information Bureau, Govt. of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution vide its press release dated 13.03.2020 advised the States to notify the Central Order in their official gazette, also issue their own orders under the EC Act to that effect the take necessary actions as per the situation prevailing in the respective States.
In compliance to the aforesaid directions of the Govt. as provided under Section 2(d) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is hereby pleased to notify the Central Order dated 13.03.2020 in the official gazette of Chandigarh Administration with immediate effect.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
