BAPU DHAM COLONY COUNCILLOR MEETS ADVISER


Chandigarh, 22nd May 2020: On the request of Sh. Dalip Sharma, Municipal Councillor of Bapu Dham Colony, an exclusive meeting was held today in the Conference Hall of UT Secretariat, which was presided over by Adviser, Sh. Manoj Parida.  Senior officers including Principal Secretary Home, Director General of Police, Finance Secretary, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Deputy Commissioner and SDM (East) attended the meeting.

The Councillor expressed his grievance regarding continuous confinement of the local people.  He requested that migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar etc. should be allowed to return to their homes, since they are in Buffer Zone and not in Containment Zone.  He also requested that for treating non-covid cases, a mobile dispensary should be operated within the Bapu Dham Colony.  The Councillor expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Administrator, Sh. VP Singh Badnore for opening a Sample Collection Centre within Bapu Dham Colony.  He stated that it will help persons to volunteer themselves for taking their samples, since they were earlier afraid of going in ambulances to hospitals fearing infection on the way.  The Councillor thanked the Administrator for setting up a Care Centre within Bapu Dham Colony, where vulnerable old people, small children and pregnant ladies could get temporary accommodation.
Adviser, Sh. Manoj Parida sought the cooperation of Councillor in functioning of Sample Collection Centre and Old-Age Care Centre functioning from the schools located within the area.  He also stated that vulnerable people could be taken to a separate centre outside Bapu Dham Colony for isolation, so that the spread of infection could be avoided.
The Councillor appreciated the efforts of the Administration and extended full support for fighting corona together.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
