Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh
Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting. The meeting was
attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal,
Director General of Police at Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted
with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance
Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip
Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioners of
Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director
Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.
WAR
ROOM DIRECTIONS
1. The
Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh stated that the
relaxations given in Chandigarh were basically aimed at re-starting economic
activities, based on the overall guidelines given by the Central
Government. He appealed to the residents to maintain proper social
distancing and hygiene while utilizing the facility opened up.
2. The
Administrator appealed to the Market Associations, traders and shop owners to
take special steps to ensure that the market areas remain sanitized. They
should also ensure that the customers maintain proper social distancing and
wear masks. The Associations may provide hand washing facilities in
Sector Markets in cooperation with Municipal Authorities to pre-empt chances of
infection.
3. The
Administrator expressed happiness about the arrangements made for sending
24,867 migrant labours and stranded persons to their home states through 18
special Shramik trains and buses. He advised the officers to ensure that
necessary medical screening should be strictly done and food and water be
provided to the passengers while boarding the trains.
4. The
Administrator directed health authorities to focus on Containment Zones like
Bapu Dhan Colony and Sector 30-B, so that further infection in these areas could
be contained. There should be regular check of temperature and also
oxygen saturation check of vulnerable people in these areas.
5. The
Administrator had a detailed discussions with Director, PGIMER and other senior
doctors, who gave several recommendations on Covid Management. The
Administrator requested all concerned to act upon the recommendations, which
were found positive and useful.
6. The
Administrator advised Commissioner, Municipal Corporation to ensure that
necessary steps are taken for providing adequate clean drinking water to the
residents during the ensuing summer season. He also desired that
necessary action be taken to prevent outbreak of various water-borne disease.
• Dr.
BS Chavan, Director Principal, GMCH stated that in strict implementation of
Government of India’s policies, 38 patients have been discharged today after 10
days of hospitalization.
The Administrator directed that these patients be kept in Post-Discharge Care
Centre in Sood Dharamshala. He also directed PGIMER authorities to comply
with the Government of India’s directions regarding Discharge of Covid
Patients.
• Sh.
Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary (Health) stated that all medical
institutions have been advised to strictly follow the Discharge Policy,
finalized by Government of India.
• Sh.
AK Sinha, Finance Secretary stated that 10 more Shramik trains have been
planned for carrying migrant labour and stranded persons from Chandigarh.
• Sh.
KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation stated that detailed guidelines
have been sent to various Market Associations and Sports Complexes regarding
keeping the premises sanitized and to follow Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs) for maintaining social distancing. He also stated that Municipal
Corporation has arranged training for housekeeping staff of all offices to keep
the office premises duly sanitized and disinfected. The Commissioner
further stated that entry and exit points of Wholesale Markets in Sector 26 and
Sector 17 will be regulated to ensure that these places do not become a place
for infection. Details guidelines are being issued.
• Sh.
Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated that all residents of Bapu Dham
Colony have been provided dry rations. The area is being strictly
contained to restrict entry and exit of persons. Beds have been set up in
the local schools to provide special care and nourishment to Bapu Dham Colony
residents, who are willing to shift there. 74,617 cooked food packets
have been distributed among the destitutes and needy persons in various parts
of the city. 2,89,000 persons have downloaded Aarogya Setu Applications
in UT, Chandigarh.
• Sh.
Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that tri-city bus service will start very
shortly. As regards inter-state bus service, necessary consent has been
sought from the receiving states, so that inter-state bus service could be
resumed. He also mentioned that buses will run with 50% capacity and will
be sanitized after every trip. There will be volunteers with thermal
screening at the bus terminals to screen the passengers before boarding.
• The
Hon’ble Administrator appealed to the residents not to misuse the relaxations
given and to take proper care and precautions while moving outdoors. He
also directed Director General of Police to ensure that the lockdown from 07:00
PM to 07:00 AM is strictly followed.
