Singh Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida,
Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at
Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal
Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner,
Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner,
Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioners of
Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director
Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.
WAR
ROOM DIRECTIONS
1.The
Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh noted with
satisfaction that the number of active cases in Chandigarh have reduced to
106. He desired that all the 03 medical
institutions should follow uniform Discharge Policy, as laid down by Government
of India. He also directed Principal
Secretary Health to ensure that the poor patients, who do not have spacious
houses could be kept in institutional Post-Discharge Care Centres for nourishment. He directed Deputy Commissioner to focus on
containment areas and ensure that the people inside must be provided with basic
necessities of life, since their entry/exit to outside has been completely
stopped.
2.The
Administrator desired that a mechanism should be formulated in consultation
with management institutions to ensure that the burden of OPD patients is
shared among all medical institutions located in the Union Territory.
•Sh.
AK Sinha, Finance Secretary stated that more than 25,000 migrant labour and
stranded persons have been sent to their native places through 18 trains and
several buses.
•Sh.
KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation stated that road re-carpeting
work has been started. A priority list
has been finalized in consultation with Mayor and Adviser. He also stated that necessary repair and
renovation work is being done in Sector 26 Wholesale Market.
•Sh.
Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated that though there is a lot of
restlessness in the minds of people
residing in the containment areas, yet as per Central Government’s guidelines,
further relaxation could not be given.
Any relaxation in entry/exit has a risk of infecting the rest of the
city. He, however, assured that all
essential items are being provided to the residents through Administration’s
machinery. The Deputy Commissioner
further stated that 79,993 cooked food packets have been distributed among the
destitutes and needy persons in various parts of the city. 2,92,000 persons have downloaded Aarogya Setu
Applications in UT, Chandigarh and 11,200 MTs of wheat has been procured.
•Sh.
Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that the matter has been taken up with Government
of India for providing ration to poor people, who do not have ration cards or
those who do not figure in the beneficiaries’ list, prepared by the
Administration on the basis of earlier guidelines.
•The
Hon’ble Administrator appealed to the Traders Associations, Market Associations
and shop owners, who have recently been permitted to open their facilities to
ensure that proper social distancing and hygiene practices are strictly
followed by the customers. He also
directed Director General of Police to ensure that there should be no
relaxation in screening at the inter-state borders to prevent fraud entry of
people, who might be carrying corona virus.
