Chandigarh, 27th May, 2020: Hon’ble Governor of
Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided
over Daily War Room meeting. The meeting
was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay
Beniwal, Director General of Police at Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also
interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha,
Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh.
Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioners of Mohali &
Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal,
GMCH through Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1.The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator,
UT, Chandigarh perused the report prepared by the Administration regarding end
of Containment in certain pockets of Chandigarh. He was informed about the condition of
statutory 28 days from the detection of last positive case. After detailed discussions, he approved end
of containment operations in Sector 38 from 27/05/2020 and Sector 52 from
28/05/2020. It was also decided that
screening, surveillance and strict monitoring of the health of the residents
will be continued. Further, regular
sanitization measures and IEC campaign in the area will be undertaken by
Municipal authorities. Random samples of
fresh suspect cases, if any, will be taken and reported to Administration.
Social gathering in the area will continue to remain restricted as per the
guidelines issued by Government of India and necessary social distancing, mask
wearing and hygiene will be strictly enforced.
•Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Health
stated that 20,000 numbers of PPEs are available in the three hospitals and
regular monitoring of both covid patients and persons in quarantine is being
done. He also mentioned that 5,000 PPEs
kits have been donated by Trident Company, out of which 1,000 has been given to
Chandigarh Police.
•Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary stated that
arrangements are being made to send people from areas outside Containment Zone
to their native places by train. He also
stated that 220 persons from Buffer Zone will be sent by buses to Jammu.
•Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation
stated that regular screening of vendors and sanitization of market places are
taking place. He clarified that
individual customers are not being permitted to Sector 26 Wholesale Market to
prevent infection.
•Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated
that 52,673 cooked food packets have been distributed among the destitutes and
needy persons in various parts of the city.
Further, 3,08,825 persons have downloaded Aarogya Setu Applications in
UT, Chandigarh.
•Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that all efforts
are being made to contain infection. All
guidelines issued by Health Ministry and Home Ministry are being strictly
followed. He further stated that the
passengers coming to Chandigarh through domestic and international flights are
being screened and tested, strictly as per the guidelines issued by Government
of India.
•The Administrator appealed to the three medical
institutions to equally focus on non-covid cases. He also stressed that national programmes
regarding vaccination, tuberculosis, dengue etc. should not be ignored and
should be attended simultaneously by the health officials.
