Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh
Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida,
Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at
Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal
Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner,
Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner,
Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioners of
Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director
Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1.The Hon’ble Governor
of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh expressed happiness that there has
been no positive case today and advised all the three medical institutions to
work together to fight against Corona.
However rigorous
screening/testing campaign in Bapu Dham and other containment zones must carry
on.
2.The Administrator
directed Deputy Commissioner to utilize two school buildings available in Bapu
Dham Colony for keeping persons, who can be given special care and nourishment
in these centers. Those Bapu Dham Colony
residents, whose houses are small and congested, should be allowed to utilize
this facility free of cost, if they opt for it.
3.The Administrator
thanked PGIMER doctors for their visit to Bapu Dham Colony for field inspection
and desired that an interim report may be submitted for immediate action by the
Administration.
4.The Administrator
directed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation to ensure that adequate essential
items are available in Containment Zones through ration distribution and sale
through government buses.
•Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta,
Principal Secretary (Health) informed that Government of India’s guidelines for
treatment and discharge of patients have been duly circulated. He also informed that a Post-Discharge Centre
has been set up in Sood Dharamshala for mild patients, who are required to be
discharged after 10 days from the hospitals.
•Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary
stated that 12,500 stranded persons have been sent in 10 exclusive Shramik
Special Trains to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Similar arrangements have been made for Manipur students too.
•Sh. Mandip Singh Brar,
Deputy Commissioner stated that 49 lakhs cooked food packets have so far been
distributed among the destitutes and needy persons in various parts of the
city. He also informed that 11,150 MTs
of wheat has been procured from the farmers and 2,83,000 persons have
downloaded Aarogya Setu Applications in UT, Chandigarh.
•Sh. KK Yadav,
Commissioner, Municipal Corporation stated that temporary shifting of
vegetable/fruit traders market from Sector 26 to ISBT, Sector 17 has been
completed. Necessary sanitization and
social distancing is being maintained in the area. He further informed the Administrator that
the sale of vegetables and fruits through CTU buses will be discontinued from
tomorrow. However, there will be
adequate number of registered vendors, who have been authorized to sell it in
Rehries in various sectors directly to the residents.
•Sh. Manoj Parida,
Adviser stated that several reliefs are being granted by the Central Government
for the benefit of the poor. Chandigarh
Administration will implement those relief schemes, especially for migrant
labours, vendors, construction workers etc., as soon as the detailed official
communication is received.
•The Hon’ble
Administrator desired that the reliefs granted to MSME industries should be
passed on to the beneficiaries after detailed discussions with its
representatives. He appealed to the
residents to follow social distancing norms, wear masks in public places and to
ensure that the spread of Corona is contained.
