COVID 19 WAR ROOM PRESS RELEASE

Chandigarh.15 June, 2020:Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting.  The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh,  Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.

WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS

1.The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Sh. VP Singh Badnore expressed his concern about the rising number of covid cases.  He directed health officials to focus on visitors coming from outside and also to take special care of co-morbidities cases.  He also appealed to citizens to maintain physical distance and wear masks in public places.

2.Prof. Jagat Ram, Director, PGIMER informed that the trial/treatment of covid cases with plasma therapy is yielding good results. 

 The Administrator encouraged them to continue with the research and bring out a definite mode of treatment, which could be beneficial for the country. 

3.The doctors informed the Administration that in the last few days, out of 530 samples tested in PGIMER, only 11 have come positive.  Similarly, out of 149 samples tested in GMCH, Sector 32, only 01 has become positive.  They also informed that the recovery rate in UT was 85.51%, which is the best in the country.

4.The Administrator expressed satisfaction that Chandigarh residents are switching over to cycling in a big way.  He directed Engineering Department to repair the cycle tracks on priority and provide safe cycle stands in different places.

5.The Administrator appealed to the residents to opt for cycling, which is environment-friendly and a healthy and pleasant mode of transport and physical exercise.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
