2020: Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh
Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida,
Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at
Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal
Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar,
Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula,
Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through
Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1.The Hon’ble Governor
of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh reviewed the activities of the
three medical institutions. He expressed
satisfaction that the tele-medicine work was going on satisfactorily and more than
900 cases were being handled daily. He
advised the doctors to focus on non-covid cases too.
2.The Administrator
specifically directed that necessary preparations should be made to fight
water/air-borne diseases, which are likely to come in monsoon. He also desired that regular health
programmes like vaccination, tuberculosis, dengue etc. should be continued in
all dispensaries. He desired that
adequate stock of blood should be kept by holding blood donation camps
regularly.
•Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta,
Principal Secretary Health stated that 116 persons have reached Chandigarh from
abroad, out of which 29 have been discharged after necessary testing. Similarly, 281 domestic flyers have also
arrived Chandigarh and they have been advised to do self-monitoring at home, as
per Government of India’s guidelines.
•Sh. AK Sinha, Finance
Secretary stated that the directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India
regarding migrant labours have already been made by the Chandigarh
Administration. All the labourers were
given free tickets, complimentary food and water and also medically screened
before boarding the trains. He stated
that 40,000 people have left for their native places from Chandigarh.
•Sh. Mandip Singh Brar,
Deputy Commissioner stated that de-containment in Sector 38 and 52 has successfully
been done. He also informed that dry
ration has started in Bapu Dham Colony.
3,15,398 persons have downloaded Aarogya Setu Applications and 50,900 cooked food packets have been distributed
among the destitutes and needy persons in various parts of the city.
•Sh. Manoj Parida,
Adviser stated that Chandigarh Administration is ready with 3,000 beds for
accommodating patients of both, mild and serious categories. There is no shortage of ventilators, oxygen,
PPEs or medicines to treat patients.
Regular testing has been done as per Government of India’s
guidelines. Periodic review of
Containment Zones is being done every week.
•The Administrator
appealed to the residents to use Aarogya Setu Applications for their own safety
and to strictly follow the social distancing norms.
