Chandigarh.9 June,2020: Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting.  The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh,  Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.

WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS

1.The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh thanked the doctors, health workers, municipal, police and administrative officials for working hard in fighting corona, resulting in reduction of active cases to 31.  He, however, stressed that the district authorities should keep a watch on persons coming from other states, so that infection is detected at the earliest and can be contained.

2.The Administrator suggested that PGIMER authorities should also examine the density of infection among various patients and compare it with other states, so that further policy decisions could be taken.

3.The Administrator directed Principal Secretary Health to keep all hospitals and health centres in readiness for accommodating patients, in case there is a second surge, as the borders are open.

•Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation stated that vendors are being regularly screened and in Containment Areas, the residents are being provided essential items through CTU buses.  Two new mechanical sanitizers have been put to use by the Municipal Corporation.

•Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated 3,42,992 Aarogya Setu Applications have been downloaded and till date 61,00,000 cooked food packets have been distributed among the destitutes and needy persons in various parts of the city.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
