Chandigarh.12th June,2020:Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over Daily War Room meeting.  The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at Raj Bhawan. The Administrator also interacted with Sh. Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. AK Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh,  Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.

WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS

1.The Committee noted that most of the new cases are being detected in persons coming from outside Chandigarh or their immediate contacts.
The Administrator expressed concern about such cases and desired that certain restrictions should be imposed and special care be taken to prevent infection from travelers coming from outside. 


2.After detailed discussions with senior officials and medical experts, it was decided that till 30/06/2020 i.e. the end of lockdown period :-

(a)CTU will not operate its inter-state buses

(b)Consent given to other states for operating inter-state buses to bring passengers to Chandigarh will be withdrawn.

(c)The tri-city buses being operated by Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana will continue to ply.

(d)All passengers coming by trains will be screened on arrival and advised self-quarantine of 14 days.  They will download Aarogya Setu applications mandatorily and will do self-monitoring.  UT Administration will do random checking, as much as possible.

(e)The same arrangements will be applicable for passengers coming by domestic flights and by road.

(f)It was also decided that persons coming to Chandigarh by road must carry self-generated document, which can be downloaded through mobile phones from the Administration’s website.  This will help the Administration to keep track of their travel and residence.  It was clarified that this document is not a permit or a pass.  It will simply be a travel information document for official record.

(g)Government/PSU/Private employees coming to attend office will be allowed on production of identity cards.

 The Administrator expressed his satisfaction regarding PGIMER securing 2nd rank in the country among medical institutions.  He also congratulated Punjab Engineering College for improving its ranking by 10 points.

•Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated that through efforts of Labour Department, 800 private employers have released pending wages of Bapu Dham Colony residents, who could not attend their work due to Containment Area. He further stated 3,51,476 Aarogya Setu Applications have been downloaded in UT, Chandigarh.
