            WHEREAS vide order No.40-3/2020-DM-I(A), dated 24/03/2020, the Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India had issued an order under Section 10(2)(1) of Disaster Management Act, stipulating lockdown measures for containment of COVID-19 in the country.

            WHEREAS the same order was extended vide letter dated 14/04/2020 to remain in force till 3rd May, 2020 all over the country.

WHEREAS the above lockdown order was extended upto 17/05/2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 01/05/2020 and was further extended upto 30/06/2020 vide order dated 30/05/2020.

WHEREAS vide order No.Z.28015/19/2020-EMR dated 30/04/2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare included U.T., Chandigarh in the official list of RED ZONE in the country.

WHEREAS vide order dated 02/05/2020, six areas were declared as CONTAINMENT ZONE in U.T., Chandigarh.

WHEREAS vide order No. 13180-HIII(5)/2020/5449 dated 27/05/2020, three out of six areas were removed from the Containment Zone in UT, Chandigarh.

WHEREAS vide order No. 13180-HIII(5)/2020/5809 dated 05/06/2020, Sector 30-B was removed from the Containment Zone in UT, Chandigarh.


WHEREAS vide order No. 13180-HIII(5)/2020/5913 dated 08/06/2020, six pockets of Bapu Dham Colony and Kachi Colony, Dhanas were removed from the restrictions of perimeter control of Containment Zone/Buffer Zone.

WHEREAS the issue of outbreak of COVID-19 was further studied and examined by a Committee comprising Commissioner Municipal Corporation, District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police, Director Health Services, WHO representative and a considered view emerged that there is no need to further continue perimeter control in following areas of Bapu Dham Colony as per table given below :-

            Therefore, the undersigned, in his capacity as Chairperson of State Executive Committee of State Disaster Management Authority hereby declares removal of perimeter control from the above areas with the stipulation that regular screening and monitoring of the area by medical teams will continue.  Regular sanitization of the areas by Municipal Authorities will be conducted and the residents be advised to maintain social distancing norms, wear masks and follow hand hygiene.

            These orders will come into force with immediate effect.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
