June,2020: A meeting was held in UT Secretariat today to streamline
coordination among the three districts in the tri-city. Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary
Health, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Sh. Shashank Anand,
Deputy Inspector General of Police and Sh. Abdul Qayum, Deputy Conservator of
Forests attended the meeting alongwith Sh. Girish Dayalan, Deputy Commissioner,
Mohali and Sh. M.K. Ahuja, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula.
Sh. Manoj Parida,
Adviser, UT reviewed the protocol being followed by the three districts
regarding travellers reaching the city by road, rail and flight. It was decided that both Haryana and
Chandigarh authorities will screen the passengers at Chandigarh Railway
Station. At Chandigarh Airport, the
existing system of screening by Punjab Government will continue. As regards screening of bus passengers, all
the three districts agreed that thermal screening will be done at the time of
boarding the buses in tri-city. All the
Deputy Commissioners were advised to maintain regular coordination, so that the
local residents do not suffer during travel and visitors coming from outside,
are properly screened and checked, to prevent infection.
