PRESS RELEASE

Chandigarh, 19th June, 2020: Directorate of AYUSH, Health Department, UT Chandigarh is celebrating 6th International Day of Yoga in collaboration with Government College of Yoga Education & Health on 21st June, 2020 through online mode with the citizens of Chandigarh. 

The theme for this year is "Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family." 

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, International Yoga Day will be observed at home, no mass gathering would be encouraged this year. Hence, this year the ministry is encouraging people to practice yoga at their homes, with participation from the entire family.

Prime Minister encouraged people to stay active and fit during the coronavirus lockdown.

A series of various online activities have been organised in wake of 6th International Day of Yoga in UT Chandigarh as per details  given below:-

1. Yoga Protocol Camp 13th to 20th June 2020.
2. Poster Making Competition 15 June 2020
3. Asana Competition 16 June 2020
4. Yoga Quiz 17 June 2020
5. Webinar  19June 2020

Practice of Common Yoga Protocol  is scheduled to be held on 21 June 2020 at 7am onwards

To organise the above activities, online mode is being used. 

On 21 june demonstration of  the Common Yoga Protcol will be done as per the guidelines of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India after the speech of Prime Minister and will be shared  live on  Facebook page of Govt College of Yoga and Youtube channel.
