SPIC Organized Webinars for Students on Emerging Technologies


Chandigarh, 30 May,2020: During the outbreak of COVID-19 in the entire nation, all major sectors facing crisis and the worse hit is education sector as the classes are suspended. In sync with the guidelines of Government of India to use digital platform for conducting classes/training, SPIC under the aegis of Department of Information Technology organizing series of webinars for the students of Chandigarh Group of  College from 28th May to 2nd June 2020.  The webinars are being conducted with the state of art technology Webex Training Solution developed by CISCO.  These webinars are being organized on emerging technologies and the first webinar was conducted on Amazon Web Services(AWS) cloud computing. The usage of this  technology  is in high demand among IT companies and more and more companies are banking on cloud computing to reduce their operational cost. The second webinar was conducted on Data Science and its tools  which is the basis of any business growth as data is one of the important features of every organization because it helps business leaders to make decisions based on facts, statistical numbers and trends. 

The students from First , Second & Third year from Computer Science stream  of College of attended the webinar  from comfort of their home through laptop and mobile phones. The response to the webinar has been overwhelming as students attended in large numbers and enjoyed the interactive sessions. Students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges   were inquisitive about this emerging technologies and had many queries related to  its future prospects  and job opportunities in the market.

Mr. Vinod P Kavle, IAS, Secretary Information Technology, Chandigarh Administration said “ In the wake of the novel corona virus pandemic the entire nation is under lockdown especially education sector. The current pandemic situation has paved the way for a ground test of virtual classrooms as a prominent too of learning in the current times and it should be effectively used.” 

Ms. Nazuk Kumar, IAS, Director Information Technology, Chandigarh Administration, Said  “ To ensure that there is no hiatus in the education and students get full-access to classes like before, virtual classroom is the way forward.  The education sector should use the opportunity to understand the existing loopholes and strategize the inclusion of virtual learning in the their existing learning system.”

SPIC will hold  two more webinars with CGC college on 1st & 2nd June 2020 at 12 pm onwards on Web application development with PHP which is extensively used technology at present in the industry for designing of websites and Python and Machine learning which is changing the business dynamics and one can register for them at www.spicindia.com. All webinar participants will get certificate which they can download from SPIC website after 3rd June 2020 by entering their registered email ID & mobile number.  Looking at the effectiveness and acceptability of webinars among students,  SPIC is planning to hold more such webinars with the  Chandigarh Colleges details of which will be made available on website.  SPIC is also opening online registration from 3rd of June 2020 for its emerging technology courses like; AWS-cloud Computing, Data Science, Machine learning & Python, Big Data Analytics etc and classes of which will be held through virtual classroom platform and registration for courses can be done on www.spicindia.com
